About Us

Come meet the fantastic team at Rustic Tours

Assynt Beach

WELCOME

We are 3 friends and colleagues who have decided to combine our forces and create a Bespoke Guided Tour service in the North of Scotland. We share a combination of 20 years working as tour guides in the Scottish Highlands and Islands and have journeyed far and wide, across the seas, cruising the coastlines and sharing some stories with many visitors to Scotland.

Meet Gail WIlliams
Gail WIlliams

I have a passion for Scottish History and am currently studying part-time to gain a BA History degree. I love meeting people from all over the world and sharing Scotland’s most beautiful locations, and telling stories of myths, modern culture and ancient history. My other interests include hiking, wild-swimming and snorkelling, cooking and playing ukulele.

Meet Jamie Smith

I live for travel and adventure! My interests include mountain biking, running marathons, writing, playing guitar and am learning to speak Scots Gaelic. I love mountain climbing and am currently gaining my Mountain Leader qualification. As if that wasn't enough I am also studying part-time to gain a BSc Environmental Architecture... and designing an eco-home that we are hoping to build next year.

For me, there is no greater vocation that being a tour-guide. It is a pleasure to share Scotland and all her glories and stories with visitors... and I extend you the warmest welcome. I am very excited to become a crofter. We 3 have recently taken on a croft (small farm) in Assynt and I am the green-fingered magic-maker. I love meeting lovely folk from all over the globe and telling the tales of Scotland's Highlands and Islands.

WHAT WE OFFER..

Rustic Tours can offer a uniquely planned guided tour around Scotland.
You can read more about our Bespoke Tours here.

Let us take care of the driving so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the marvellous views. We will share with you the history, tales, music and culture of the places we visit. We are all resident in the Northwest Highlands of Scotland and we choose to live here because it is the most beautiful part of Scotland, come rain or shine, and due to the plentiful activities on offer; mountain climbing, fishing, woodland walks, kayaking, wildlife-watching, snorkelling and more. We also like to work with other small local businesses to give you a truly authentic local experience and warm Highland Hospitality.

WHAT WE WILL BE TRAVELLING IN..

Our guided-tours will be conducted in a comfortable 8-seated vehicle. This small vehicle can take you to places where larger coaches cannot.
